A Letter from the President

I would like to welcome you to the wonderful City of San Antonio, where cultural heritage remains the prime motive for her initial existence. The Alamo City as it is well known, is host to several communities including the Cameroonian community. The city’s population stands at 1.5 million with a total metro population estimated at approx. 2.3 million. It is the 7th largest in the US and the second largest in Texas after Houston. It boost several attractions including the San Antonio River Walk https://www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com/, the Alamo https://www.thealamo.org/ , Hill Country https://www.visitsanantonio.com/san-antonio-texas-hill-country/ , several malls (the shops at La Cantera, North Star Mall, Rolling Oaks mall, The Rim, Ingram mall), and is home to the San Antonio Spurs Basketball club https://www.nba.com/spurs/

There are several high-tech industries such as Blue Duck scooters (a company that eases movement in the downtown area), Silotech Group (an IT and Cloud Company), Denin Group (an app company), amongst others. The city is also headquarters to the Food Retail Giant – HEB and the Fast-Food Muscle – Whataburger. San Antonio also stands as the birthplace of Toyota Tacoma and Tundra. The city is site of the Toyota Assembly Plant – located in the Southside of San Antonio. There are several Food and Beverage manufacturing companies in the city including HEB, CH. Guenther, Refresco, Sterling Foods amongst others. The Real Estate company is booming as well, leading way to several construction jobs. With the continuous expansion of the city and the need to build more roads, the construction business is one that would boom for a very long time.

San Antonio is only 45 mins from Austin (Texas Capital), 2.5 Hours from Houston, and 3.5 Hours from the Dallas metro area. The population of the city is growing very fast with population influx from several states and especially from the East Coast

Cameroonians in San Antonio are involved in several works of life. They hold positions in:

  • Medical Filed: Medical doctors, Dr’s of Nursing Practice, pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, etc.

  • Financial Services (Tax preparation, financial advisors, etc.
  • Food Service and Retail
  • Entrepreneurs in the areas of IT, Building and Construction, Medical, Fashion, and several luxury lines
